Join us for a discussion on the intersectionality of racism and issues regarding access to education and how that impacts young members of our community. We will be sharing experiences and thoughts to help inform the legislative process of our government and tackle racism from various angles.
This event is one of 5 panel sessions under the Anti-Racism Data Legislation Grant. The purpose of this grant is to support organizations to engage Indigenous and racialized communities specifically to gather their input on the anti-racism data legislation that the Province plans to introduce in 2022. The focus of this legislation will be to provide a framework for the Province to collect and use data on personal identity factors such as race, ethnicity, faith and other similar categories when residents of British Columbia access provincial government services in the future so that we can better identify and address evidence of systemic racism in government services.
